A hidden gem on Northern Vancouver Island, BC is Nimpkish Lake, a 22 kilometre lake with more than one personality!
The northern end of Nimpkish Lake is protected and generally calm, protected from the prevailing winds by the Karmutzen Range. This makes it an ideal spot for camping, canoeing or kayaking, fishing, and swimming.
The southern extremity of Nimpkish Lake is a popular place for windsurfing and attracts participants in the sport during the summer months to early fall. The highlight of the windsurfing season is the Nimpkish Lake Speed Slalom weekend held in early August each year.
