If you're looking for a real character building experience, a hike through the Cape Scott Provincial Park is a must. Wilderness camping is all that the park offers with the only luxury facilities on offer in most designated camp grounds being pit toilets and food caches.
Beach camping is encouraged whenever possible to minimize damage to the forest and fragile environment. San Josef Bay is a beautiful sandy beach with driftwood strewn along the boundary between the beach and forest. Mt St Patrick is the highest point in the Cape Scott Provincial Park at 415 metres, and overlooks San Josef Bay and the surrounding landscape.
