An invitation is required to set foot in the First Nations village of Tsatsisnukwomi, otherwise known as New Vancouver. On arrival, a group of dancers and singers which also consists of young children perform a traditional welcome.
This revitalised village is situated on Harbledown Island and is the traditional homeland of the Da'naxda'xw First Nations people.
After the colourful welcome, visitors are lead to the Long House where the events of the visit take place in the form of a traditional meal, dances, and stories.
